The Tampa Bay Buccaneers usually make the rounds for their offense, but their defense is also quite strong.
That has plenty to do with Lavonte David’s unmatched impact.
To provide some context, “The 33rd Team” took to X to headline just how strong his play has been for the past five years.
He’s the only player in the league to record at least 500+ total tackles, 50+ tackles for loss, and 10+ forced fumbles since 2020.

That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see him crack the league’s top-100 list once again.
The 35-year-old veteran was listed No. 96 ahead of what might be his final season with the Bucs – and even in the league.
David has made a strong case for being inducted into the Hall of Fame once it’s all said and done.
He’s just the eighth player since 1991 to log at least 30 takeaways and 40 sacks, including playoffs.
That’s a very exclusive club that also features the likes of Karlos Dansby, Ray Lewis, London Fletcher, Julius Peppers, Junior Seau, Jason Taylor, and Brian Urlacher, five of whom have already been given a gold jacket.
He’s also one of just four players with at least 1,500 tackles, 35.0 sacks, and 10 interceptions since the league started tracking tackles, joining London Fletcher, Ray Lewis, and Bobby Wagner in that short list.
David is second among active players with 1,602 tackles, trailing only Wagner (1,832).
And despite his age, he’s still going strong, logging 122 tackles, nine tackles for loss, six passes defended, 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one pick in his 13th year in the league.
