The sample size is still small, but Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers has made a statement with his first three games of the season.
According to StatMuse, Davis has averaged 34 points, 11 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game in the early days of 2024-25.
He is currently leading the league in points per game and more than a few people are saying this might be the start of an MVP campaign for Davis.

Last year, Davis averaged 24.7 per game and is currently doing nearly ten points more than that so far.
Can he keep it up or will Davis’ numbers come back down to Earth?
The Lakers have shocked many by winning all three of their games and Davis has been front-and-center for each victory.
He started the year with 36 points and 16 rebounds against the Minnesota Timberwolves and then scored 35 points and 8 rebounds against the Phoenix Suns and 31 points and 9 rebounds against the Sacramento Kings.
That Kings win was meaningful to Davis because it was the first time he took down fellow big man Domantas Sabonis.
This only gives more credibility to the idea of Davis being in contention for MVP.
Some people give him a hard time but Davis has been very constant over the last few seasons.
Plus, he has been healthy lately and played the most games of his career last season with 76.
He has improved his consistency in nearly every way and Lakers fans hope Davis can stay in his form all season.
They want their team to score their most wins in years but that is only possible if Davis remains powerful and healthy for all of 2024-25.
