The Pittsburgh Steelers wanted to make life easier for whoever they had at quarterback this season.
That’s why they went after one of the most underrated wide receivers in the game.
As shown by PFF on X, DK Metcalf had a very good season in 2024 with the Seattle Seahawks, yet people didn’t seem to talk about it much.
That was particularly true on targets of 20 yards or more.
He led the NFL in those receptions (16) and was tied for second in touchdown receptions (5) and receiving grade (96.4).

Most of the talk around Metcalf often centers on his physical tools, but he’s much more than just an athlete.
He’s also a reliable pass catcher and big-play threat.
Aaron Rodgers didn’t seem to have the same juice last season as quarterback of the New York Jets, but he’s always been one of the most accurate deep-ball throwers in the league.
He’s also better than anybody else when it comes to forcing the defense to jump offside and then making the most of a free play with a throw down the field.
The Steelers are a bit of a question mark right now, as their offensive line has potential but hasn’t lived up to it.
Yet, if it can hold its ground and gives Rodgers time to get settled in the pocket, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Metcalf post the best numbers of his career.
