The Miami Dolphins took their talents overseas to Frankfurt, Germany for Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs though it didn’t end the way they wanted as they lost 21-14 and dropped to 6-3 during the 2023 NFL season.
What was supposed to be a high-scoring affair turned into a defensive battle as both teams were able to limit any explosive plays and keep the game relatively quiet.
However, the Chiefs were the ones that were able to make timely plays as they got to Tua Tagovailoa in the fourth quarter and prevented the Dolphins from tying up the game and forcing overtime.
There’s nothing to be ashamed about losing to Kansas City given they’re playing some of the best two-way football in the league, but it does raise more questions about Miami’s ability to beat playoff teams.
In fact, the Dolphins have yet to beat a team with a winning record this season via Bleacher Report.

Much has been made about the Dolphins’ offense and how they can score with anybody, but it seems as though there’s a legitimate concern that they can only do that against the bottom feeders of the NFL.
Miami’s been successful when they’re able to run the football, and Kansas City seemed to know that as they bottled up Raheem Mostert for most of the afternoon.
Tagovailoa has had trouble when he’s working with longer passing down situations, and this could be something to monitor down the stretch of the season.
Until the Dolphins beat a projected postseason team, it’s hard to trust them as a Super Bowl contender.
