It’s been another terrific season for DeRozan, who is averaging 23.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on 47.5% from the field.
He isn’t the only impressive player on the roster but DeRozan is again a leader in Chicago.
The Bulls are fighting to stay in playoff contention and are currently the ninth seed in the East with a 32-34 record.
That means they are qualified for the Play-In Tournament right now and would have to battle the Atlanta Hawks if it started today.
The Bulls have been the subject of much controversy and speculation.
The team has been decimated by injuries again this year, most recently Zach LaVine, who is sidelined for the rest of the season.
For years, there have been rumors about the front office possibly shaking things up in the offseason and making big changes.
Would parting ways with DeRozan be one of them?
He is definitely a huge part of this team because of how well he’s playing but that also means his trade value is increasing.
If the Bulls want to adjust the roster and add new talent, sending DeRozan off might be a way to do that.
For now, they are just hoping that DeRozan keeps playing like he has been over the last six games.
He continues to light up from the floor and that is keeping Chicago’s playoff hopes alive.
