Shohei Ohtani is a freak of nature and is on a completely different level from other players in Major League Baseball.
The Los Angeles Angels two-way sensation has had a crazy past couple of games.
On Tuesday, the slugger and ace picked up three hits and ended up driving in eight runs as the Angels fell just short against the Kansas City Royals.
Last night, he got the start and was tasked with trying to help the Angels avoid a sweep at Kansas City’s hands.
All he did was pitch eight shutout innings and strike out a career-high 13 batters as the Angels won, 5-0.
One ESPN insider tweeted a list of sluggers who never had an eight-RBI game and legendary pitchers who never struck out 13 in a game.
Never had an 8-RBI game:
Babe Ruth
Henry Aaron
Barry Bonds
Albert Pujols
Never had a 13-K game:
Lefty Grove
Catfish Hunter
Jack Morris
Tom Glavine
Ohtani did both – in consecutive days.

Shohei Puts On A “SHO”
This just speaks to the raw ability of Ohtani.
Sure, Babe Ruth could both pitch and hit, but he never did it the way Ohtani is doing it.
Ohtani is pitching like an ace and slugging home runs at the same time.
He has such a unique ability to do everything on a baseball field and do so with ease.
He might just be the best player in the game today.
He’s already won an AL MVP Award and he’s certainly thrown himself into the conversation for some of the greatest players of all time.
The fact that Albert Pujols has never had an eight-RBI game and Tom Glavine never struck out 13 batters is insane.
The fact that Ohtani did both in back-to-back days is even more insane and is very impressive.
Ohtani is a threat on both sides of the ball and can do so many amazing things every time he steps out onto the field.
