The 2022 MLB World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros is currently tied at one victory apiece.
The Phillies took Game 1 in extras, with a 6-5 score.
The Astros fought back and dominated Game 2 with a 5-2 score.
The teams had a travel day on Sunday and didn’t play on Monday because of inclement weather.
Game 3, as a result of the rainout, was moved to Tuesday night, at 8:03 pm ET.
That’s right: after two days without baseball, the Fall Classic will return tonight, as the Phillies and Astros will look to take the third game of the best-of-seven matchup at Citizens Bank Park.
The next three games will be in Philadelphia, giving the Phillies a slight edge.
The Astros, however, have been very good playing away from home, too.
Game 3 Of The World Series Is Historically Relevant
In reality, whoever wins tonight will take commanding control of the series.
That’s, at least, what history says.
“Who’s taking the series lead? In best-of-seven postseason series that are tied 1-1, the winner of Game 3 has gone on to win the series on 68 of 98 occasions,” MLB tweeted.

That’s good for a 69 percent: we can now conclude that the squad that takes Game 3 of the Fall Classic ends up celebrating top honors more than two-thirds of the time.
That’s a lot, which is why both teams are sending their best available pitchers to the mound tonight.
Phillies manager Rob Thomson is trusting Ranger Suarez with the task of limiting the Astros’ formidable offense, while Lance McCullers Jr. will try to do the same for Houston.
We can say with confidence that whoever wins tonight will be heavily favored to get the trophy.
