When healthy, New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is one of the most dynamic players in the league.
Durability, unfortunately, is not his forte.
The only time he played more than 150 games was in 2015, and he hasn’t topped 125 games since 2019.
The last two seasons with the Mets have been marred by leg and groin injuries, to the point he played just 86 games in 2023.
His performance, as his .625 OPS proves, was also affected last year.
But he seems to be in a really good place at the moment.
He appeared in some Winter League games in his native Dominican Republic, and he has already made his Grapefruit League debut this week with the Mets.
If you want to know if he is healthy, well, we invite you to take a look at this video:

Marte caught the ball in the air for an out and then uncorked a laser toward third base to nail the runner there, too, in an impressive double-play.
The sheer arm strength and the impressive accuracy are proof that he is not limited by any injury at this point.
It was poetry in motion, to be completely honest, and Mets fans can’t help but smile knowing that their dynamic, base-stealing outfielder appears to be back.
If healthy, Marte will provide sneaky power, the ability to steal 30+ bases, a nice batting average floor, quality defense in the outfield corners, and a top-notch arm.
That’s quite the package, one that can help New York get back on track if things go well.
