At this point, it’s as if Skip Bayless is trying to stir the pot with fans of the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics.
The man always has a blazing red hot take and it’s usually met with at least some derision and ridicule.
He was at it again on Wednesday night during Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Jaylen Brown>Jayson Tatum.
— Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) June 9, 2022
In the middle of the game, Bayless tweeted out “Jaylen Brown > Jayson Tatum,” which of course started a firestorm of pushback and conversation online.
No one is saying that Brown is a bad player – far from it – but why did Bayless feel the need to compare him to Tatum?
Why does one have to be better than the other?
This is just another case of Bayless being Bayless.
Brown & Tatum
Both Brown and Tatum had wonderful games on Wednesday night.
Tatum ended the game with 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists.
Meanwhile, Brown had 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.
In other words, they were both spectacular in their own ways and there were precisely zero reasons to compare them or rank them.
The key to the Celtics winning it all in these Finals is Brown and Tatum playing together at the best of their abilities.
Indeed, if these two can have more nights like Wednesday, then they could definitely claim the championship title this year.
There was a time not too long ago when some fans and analysts were calling on the Celtics to split up Tatum and Brown, saying a trade for one of them would make the most sense in order to help the team.
But they are now playing as one of the best backcourts in the league and the idea of breaking this partnership apart seems laughable.
Brown and Tatum are here to stay – as they should be.
