Michael Jordan’s era of basketball in the 1980s and 1990s has been romanticized to no end, and fans are constantly looking to anoint someone as the next MJ.
LeBron James and Kobe Bryant have heard the comparisons the most over the past few decades, but a new rising superstar is next in line to receive the bulk of these comparisons, much to the ire of Undisputed’s Skip Bayless.
Bayless discussed the Jordan comparisons being made with Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards lately and called it “unfair” to Edwards while adding that “we have so much to see” in regards to Edwards, who is still only 22 years old.

The comparisons are easy to make, as Edwards not only resembles Jordan in terms of size, athleticism, playstyle, and tenacity, but everyone has seen the split-faced meme that shows how uncanny the facial resemblance is between the two.
Edwards literally looks like Jordan’s long-lost son, and Ant has done what he can lately to throw a blanket on this fire by saying “He’s the GOAT. I can’t be compared to him.”
The comparisons are unfair for anyone at age 22, as they are unnecessary and put added pressure and unreasonable expectations on Edwards.
Fans need to simply enjoy the show and stop trying to connect the dots with the past all the time.
Edwards can be enjoyed and appreciated without being compared to the greatest to ever do it, because we have all seen this movie too many times.
Edwards gets unrealistic Jordan comparisons placed on him, fails to live up to impossible expectations, and the fans and media then tear him apart for it.
