The Dallas Mavericks are no fluke.
Neither are the Minnesota Timberwolves, but this will be their toughest matchup yet.
That’s no disrespect to the Denver Nuggets, but both teams pose a different challenge.
That’s why sports analyst Skip Bayless believes the Timberwolves might be in trouble, as the Mavericks sent a big message in Game 1 and proved that they could beat them in ways the Nuggets couldn’t.
Also, in today’s edition of Undisputed, he claimed that Luka Doncic had a ‘Jordan-esque’ performance, which is perhaps the biggest compliment one could ever get from Bayless.
Luka lives for these moments. The Wolves' 3-headed monster did not roar. Dallas sent a message that they can play with you in ways Joker could not. https://t.co/ui7vdSlm8R

The Timberwolves built their roster specifically to beat the Nuggets.
They were even built by the same GM, so he already had the blueprint and knew what to look for.
The Mavs may or may not be a better team than the Nuggets, but they’re clearly different.
Their bigs bullied their way to the rim over and over, and Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving put on a mid-range and driving clinic in the first game of the series.
The Timberwolves did an outstanding job of hounding the Mavericks away from the three-point line, but their once-stellar defense crumbled as soon as they drove to the rim, even with Rudy Gobert roaming around the restricted area.
Even so, contrary to what some analysts think, the Timberwolves aren’t in that much trouble.
If anything, they need to hit the drawing board to get right back in this series, as these two teams are too good for this to be a blowout.
