The Tennessee Titans made a rather shocking decision when they let Mke Vrabel go.
There were already rumors and rumblings about both parties looking to part ways, but it seemed like a trade was more likely than him being fired.
But judging by the statement released by the organization, it seemed like this was a long time in the making, and Vrabel might have outstayed his welcome in the Music City.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Skip Bayless expressed his concerns about this matter.
Talking on Undisputed, he stated that he believes Vrabel got into some sort of power struggle with the GM, which is why the organization decided to take sides:
“It sounded like there was a power struggle & the Titans chose the GM over Mike Vrabel,” Bayless said.
I can’t tell you how shocked I was by this. The Titans wanted Vrabel to be a team player, but he’s his own guy. https://t.co/lMy5u5oRH2

Bayless believes this was the wrong decision, as Vrabel is one of the best coaches in the league and will most definitely be sought-after and highly coveted around the league.
It shouldn’t take long before other teams reach out to coach Vrabel, and this could change the entire landscape around the league.
The New England Patriots are reportedly weighing Bill Belichick’s future with the organization, while Jerod Mayo is reportedly a top internal candidate for his replacement.
The Titans overperformed more often than not under Vrabel, beating teams they shouldn’t have beaten.
Now, finding a new coach to take that project up from the ground with that shortage of talent is going to be tricky.
