Last week, the NFL released its annual list of the top 100 players in the league, as voted on by players themselves.
As one could expect with such a list, there were some surprises, such as Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill earning the top spot on the list.
Fox Sports 1 commentator Skip Bayless had an issue with another ranking that some may call a surprise — Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow coming in at just No. 39.
Most laughable about https://t.co/TKrt63f59N Top 100 Players, voted on by players, is Joe Burrow at 39. No, he hasn't been able to stay healthy, but when he is, he's a little better than Mahomes or Lamar. Burrow played better at SF last season than Mahomes played vs SF in SBowl.

While Bayless did mention the fact that Burrow has had some injuries during his career, he had a great point when he tweeted that Burrow’s low ranking is “laughable.”
On the other hand, the journalist also gave a questionable take when he tweeted that when healthy, Burrow is a little better than Lamar Jackson, the NFL’s reigning MVP, and even Patrick Mahomes, a two-time MVP and three-time Super Bowl champion.
The 27-year old tore both the ACL and MCL in his left knee when he was a rookie, and last season, he dealt with a calf injury in training camp and a wrist injury that later prematurely ended his year.
But other than that, he has had an outstanding start to his pro career.
He led the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance in the 2021 season and to the AFC Championship Game the following year, and he is consistently mentioned as one of the game’s truly elite QBs.
Perhaps a fully healthy season from him, as well as a long playoff run by his team, will result in more respect for him from his peers.
