There were plenty of NBA fans disappointed by Monday night’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets.
They were bummed out because it wasn’t a chance to see two titans of the game – Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid – square off since Embiid was out due to right calf soreness.
These are the two frontrunners for NBA MVP this season and Embiid’s absence started a dialogue about his chances of winning that trophy.
Skip Bayless wasn’t bothered by Embiid sitting out on Monday and still feels he will win MVP.
Speaking on Undisputed, Bayless noted that Embiid “did a number on Jokic” during their last game together and thinks that head coach Doc Rivers was smart to rest the star.
He also said that Embiid is focused on the postseason instead of the regular season, which is smart because Philly’s chances of reaching the Finals are higher than ever.

Bayless makes a lot of strong points about Embiid and how he’s been playing.
After two years of being runner-up for MVP, he really might take the trophy home this season.
As noted by Bayless, Embiid is averaging 33.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists this season and is likely going to be the scoring champion for the second year in a row.
According to Bayless, Embiid has already proven that he’s the league’s Most Valuable Player even though he took Monday night off.
The conversation about Embiid’s chances will only get louder and more heated in the next few weeks as the regular season concludes.
There is no doubt that Embiid is playing at a superb level right now and many people feel he has rightfully earned the top prize even if he has taken a few nights off.
