The war of words between Skip Bayless of ESPN and Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Lakers continues.
Bayless and Westbrook have never seen eye to eye about just about anything.
That’s not surprising because many NBA stars don’t get along well with Bayless and think he’s full of hot air.
But Bayless made it personal with Westbrook recently, referring to him as “Westbrick” in a tweet.
Westbrook fired back…and then Bayless did too.
Hey, Russell Westbrook (@russwest44) … happy to talk face-to-face about the nickname I believe I originated in 2012. JOIN ME ON TV/PODCAST. Let's talk about how you'll make $47 mil next yr after being THE WORST 3-PT SHOOTER IN THE NBA! Most overpaid player ever? PLEASE JOIN ME

Bayless hopped on Twitter and invited Westbrook on his show to hash it out.
“Hey, Russell Westbrook (@russwest44) … happy to talk face-to-face about the nickname I believe I originated in 2012. JOIN ME ON TV/PODCAST. Let’s talk about how you’ll make $47 mil next yr after being THE WORST 3-PT SHOOTER IN THE NBA! Most overpaid player ever? PLEASE JOIN ME” Bayless said online.
There hasn’t been a response from Westbrook yet – but don’t be surprised if there is soon enough.
War Of Words
After Bayless’ initial tweet, Westbrook pushed back.
“Yoooo…watch your mouth,” he tweeted.
He continued: “Don’t say anything here you wouldn’t say to my face.”
Bayless has long been a huge critic of Westbrook but this is the first time that the Lakers star decided to snap back.
Westbrook’s game is worthy of serious critiques – his first season with LA was not as good as it should have been – but he has evidently grown tired of the hate.
He’s not the only one who is fatigued by Bayless’ onslaught of opinions.
Kevin Durant, for example, has railed against Bayless before – and other NBA stars have jumped at the media star.
Will all of this result in an actual face-to-face showdown between Bayless and Westbrook?
Don’t hold your breath.
