On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers added another vital piece to the puzzle when news broke of the 17-time NBA champions signing versatile big man Christian Wood to a two-year deal.
This deal had been brewing for quite some time, with some speculating that Wood was waiting for the Damian Lillard trade to go down with the Miami Heat in hopes of a spot opening up there, with Los Angeles being his backup option.
Obviously, the Lakers were in no rush to sign Wood as the team’s front office had already done the bulk of its work earlier in the NBA offseason, with the re-signing of key players and bringing in a few players to address specific areas.
With Wood now in the fold in Los Angeles, which has received high praise around the league, Skip Bayless of has chimed in and used it as another excuse to take a shot at superstar forward LeBron James via Twitter.
Congrats to Rob Pelinka for signing Christian Wood, who averaged 17&7 last yr and has shot 38% from 3 over last 4 yrs. Now if the Lakers can just get the NBA's all-time leading scorer to score in 4th quarters of playoff games …

Whenever there’s an opportunity to take a jab at James, Bayless is the first one in line, with tweets lined up to bash the superstar, and this one is no different.
James was heavily criticized by Bayless for his performance during the NBA playoffs last season, especially when it came to scoring in the fourth quarter, even though the Lakers had made it to the Western Conference Finals from the Play-In Tournament.
The endless battle between Bayless and James continues as the Lakers superstar will seemingly always have to deal with criticism from the pundit.
