The Philadelphia 76ers haven’t been to the NBA Finals since the Allen Iverson days.
So, now that they brought Paul George to the City of Brotherly Love and are thinking about putting an end to that drought, it only makes sense that they look good doing so.
That’s why they reportedly intend to bring their iconic throwback jerseys back next season, according to Sixers beat writer Adam Aaronson (via NBA Central).

Given Iverson’s cultural impact and influence, those jerseys have become one of the most iconic in sports history, so this is clearly great news for the fans and even the players.
For years, fans have complained about how some of the jerseys and logos have gone through major downgrades, as that old-school look actually made them aesthetically superior.
Collectors from all over the world have had that Sixers jersey near the top of their list for decades now, and that’s not likely to change any time soon.
As for the basketball-related stuff, it’s also a very exciting time to root for the Sixers.
Pairing Paul George with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey puts them in the top tier of the Eastern Conference, or at least pretty close to it.
Of course, staying healthy will be the biggest challenge for Nick Nurse’s team.
But if they manage to avoid injury — which is obviously a big if — they might be in the best position to take down the reigning NBA Champion, Boston Celtics, and get back to the ultimate stage once and for all.
