The Dallas Cowboys need to add another offensive tackle.
After losing Tyron Smith for what might be the entire season, they are currently in a bad spot with left tackle.
First-round draft pick Tyler Smith looks to be the most likely option to take over at LT.
But, he is a rookie who has spent the entire preseason playing left guard.
The Cowboys realize they need more help on the offensive line, and that is why they brought in 40-year-old Jason Peters for a visit.
Peters started 15 games for the Bears last season.
According to PFF, he posted a 77.5 grade for the season.

In 853 snaps, he allowed only six sacks and committed three penalties.
Despite being 40 years old, Peters can still play at a starting caliber level.
That is exactly what the Cowboys are looking for.
Perfect Fit For Dallas
One thing about Peters that will entice the Cowboys is that he is an Arkansas alum.
Owner/GM Jerry Jones is also from Arkansas and he loves drafting players from his school.
Peters is also from Texas, so coming home to finish his career would probably be something that would entice him.
No team in the league needs a left tackle more than the Cowboys.
Peters could play right away or give Dallas some depth.
There is no downside to the Cowboys making this move.
He will not command a big contract, and Dallas has plenty of cap space to spend anyway.
Jason Peters also showed well against Chandler Jones in Week 13. Beautiful pass sets, well-timed strikes, shows the ability to redirect inside and has a helluva inside hand. #Cowboys pic.twitter.com/37winvkIEZ

Peters even said he is waiting for the right situation before he signs.
Peters said, ” I am going to give it one more run at it. Try to get me another ring or pass on some knowledge to some of the young kids, up-and-coming.”
The Cowboys have the perfect young offensive line that Peters can deliver some knowledge.
Tyler Smith is expected to be the left tackle of the future and Peters can help give him some tricks of the trade.
The 40-year-old also might see some of himself in Smith.
The Cowboys’ first-round pick measures 6-foot-5 332 pounds, while Peters is 6-foot-4, 328 pounds.
Both players have similar sizes and could help maul people on the left side of Dallas’ offensive line in 2022.
If the Cowboys are serious about winning this season, Peters needs to be signed within the coming days.
There is no downside to this move and he would be the perfect bridge option for the Cowboys.
Tyler Smith is not ready to start at left tackle in Week 1, but Peters can do that if Dallas gives him the opportunity.
The lack of depth on the offensive line has put the Cowboys in this spot where they are looking for a starting left tackle one week before the season.
It is rare to see 40-year-old football players still have success.
Other than Tom Brady and some kickers, mostly everyone else falls off a cliff at that age.
But, not Peters.
He still has one or two more seasons left in those legs and hopefully, he will be wearing a star on his helmet in Week 1.
