With no sports events on the schedule yesterday, the ESPYS took place, hosted by Stephen Curry.
This is an event where major awards are handed out to the best and most influential sports figures in society.
One of the awards that was delivered last night was for the best athlete in Men’s sports.
As it turned out, the winner of that award was somebody we all know very well, and it’s no surprise that he ended up with the award.
The winner was Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Angels two-way superstar known for being able to both hit and pitch.
ESPN tweeted about Ohtani’s accomplishment, featuring a graphic and picture of the two-way star.

Ohtani Takes Home A Special Honor
At the end of the day, it’s really no surprise that Ohtani won this award.
He truly is the best male athlete in all of sports.
As we’ve talked about before, only Babe Ruth was able to do what Ohtani is doing right now, and Ohtani is doing both at the same time.
He is the reigning American League MVP after all.
This season has been no exception to his prowess as a star in Major League Baseball.
On the mound, he is 9-4 with a 2.38 ERA in 15 starts.
At the dish, he has posted a batting average of .258 with 19 home runs, 56 RBI, and a respectable .834 OPS.
This is a guy that could potentially contend for both the Cy Young and MVP Awards before it’s all set and done.
But Ohtani is very deserving of this honor, and it goes to show just how amazing of an athlete the two-way star truly is.
We likely will never see another like him.
