In March, baseball fans got to enjoy a legendary showdown between Los Angeles Angels teammates Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout.
It came in the ninth inning of the final game of the World Baseball Classic: Team USA and Japan were vying for the right to be called champions.
In a huge spot, Ohtani (who entered as the closer for Japan that day) struck out Trout to end the game and give his country its third WBC title.
Well, somebody decided that the moment and the at-bat would make for a cool baseball card.

You can tell by their facial expressions who won and who lost.
In any case, it’s part of baseball: even the best players fail sometimes, and even those who aren’t very good can enjoy magical moments.
These two obviously fall in the first category: they are the best of the best that MLB can offer at this stage.
Together, they have tried to get the Angels into the playoffs for years, and have failed.
This year, the team is still theoretically in the hunt despite some heartbreaking losses after the break, but Ohtani might be suffering the rigors of the long season with a recent bout of hand and finger cramps, and Trout is out with a wrist injury.
Whether the Angels make the playoffs or not, they are both legends in the game.
It’s cool to know that their exciting matchup from the spring has been immortalized in the form of a card.
It has the potential to be very valuable.
