It feels like ages ago now but just a few months back, there were persistent rumors that Kevin Durant could leave the Brooklyn Nets to once again play for the Golden State Warriors.
Most people felt rumors of this reunion were just that: rumors and nothing more.
But Stephen Curry spoke about Durant coming back to Golden State recently.
When asked about playing alongside KD in Golden State again, Curry gave an enthusiastic, “Hell yeah!”
Steph Curry would’ve welcomed Kevin Durant’s return to Warriors, @ShannonSharpe isn’t surprised one bit:
“Steph Curry knows Kevin Durant makes his job easier and it greatly increases their chance of winning. Steph Curry isn’t threatened by KD, he’s the more accomplished player.” pic.twitter.com/LVRUFToRCs

Shannon Sharpe isn’t shocked by Curry’s reaction.
Speaking of the comments, Sharpe gave his opinion: “Steph Curry knows Kevin Durant makes his job easier and it greatly increases their chance of winning. Steph Curry isn’t threatened by KD, he’s the more accomplished player.”
Sharpe is correct with his assessment of the situation but the chances of Durant playing with Curry again are nearly non-existent now.
Durant Remains
In the end, Durant didn’t leave the Nets and will try to make the team in Brooklyn work.
As for Curry, he and his Warriors are doing just fine without the power of other superstars.
While it is true that the Warriors were never better than when Durant was with them, they are still the most dominant team in the league currently and have found a lineup that works incredibly well for them.
However, it is undeniable that the Warriors would have an even better chance of winning the Finals with Durant on board.
But Sharpe is also correct when he says that Curry is a more accomplished player than Durant: the number of rings he has proves that.
Curry and Durant probably won’t be teammates again but they will remain competitive opponents and two of the best players in the NBA.
