Nikola Jokic has definitely come a long way for the Denver Nuggets.
From being drafted during a Taco Bell commercial to winning back-to-back MVPs, it took him long enough to get some league-wide recognition.
Now, even Shannon Sharpe is making a case for Jokic being the best player in the NBA at the moment.
.@ShannonSharpe explains why Nikola Jokić is the best player in the NBA:
“There’s not a role offensively he can’t take and dominate. He can be your point guard, a guy that cleans the glass or score 53 points.” pic.twitter.com/UM7WI1aQcV

Sharpe explained that Jokic should get the nod over Giannis Antetokounmpo because of his consistency but also because of how much of an impact he can make regardless of the role or what his team needs from him.
He claimed that Jokic could be a facilitator and dish out 17 assists, be a rebounder and grab 19 boards, or be a scorer and put up 53 points, as he’s done throughout the course of the playoffs.
Jokic is one of the few ego-less players in the league.
He doesn’t care about the touches, the numbers, the stats, or who gets to take the last shot; he’ll just do whatever it takes to win.
The crazy part about this is that, even though he’s obviously in his prime and playing the best basketball of his career, this has always been his game; it’s just that people are starting to realize it now.
Jokic was the leading candidate to win MVP, yet it felt like voters didn’t want to give him three in a row.
Whatever the case, he’s been the best, most consistent, and even healthiest superstar in the game throughout the whole season, and it’s time people give him his flowers.
