LeBron James may or may not be the greatest player in NBA history — that’s for the people to decide.
But what shouldn’t be up for debate is the fact that he’s been the ultimate role model, not having any single scandal to account for.
This is only more impressive if you consider the fact that it happened during the social media era.
That’s why former NFL star Shannon Sharpe told Stephen A. Smith that he’s been under way more scrutiny than Michael Jordan ever was.
Sharpe claimed that it wasn’t a knock on Jordan’s greatness, but just a fact.

He explained that there weren’t 24/7/365 news cycles like there are nowadays, stating that paparazzi cannot be compared to everybody having a phone with a camera on their hands.
Moreover, Sharpe explains that social media has given everyone a platform to speak their voice and share their opinions, which is something that didn’t happen during the Jordan era.
As such, everybody can pretty much go out there and slander LeBron and compare him to a former legend right after a game, and that didn’t happen with Jordan, so the narratives are obviously different.
Sharpe has always been the biggest LeBron James defender out there, but he’s right on point with this assessment.
