Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder already had one of the best NBA seasons of all time, but it was made even better on Wednesday night when he went to the ESPY Awards.
As reported by Clementa Almanza, Gilgeous-Alexander was given the 2025 NBA Player of the Year prize, capping off a massive year that seems to only get better.

It was no surprise to see Gilgeous-Alexander win this trophy, because 2024-25 was completely golden for him.
He averaged a league-high 32.7 points, along with 5.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists on 51.9 percent from the field.
He was named league MVP, Western Conference Finals MVP, Finals MVP, and was also crowned a champion.
From beginning to end, this was a season that Gilgeous-Alexander will always be very proud of.
But now he has to show that he can do it again.
Winning a championship is a major accomplishment, but the Thunder don’t want to claim the title once.
Instead, they want to become a dynasty, and Gilgeous-Alexander will be a central part of their plans.
The expectations will be high for him and the rest of the team next season, but Gilgeous-Alexander is ready to step up and meet them all.
Now that he has become a champion and won a slew of NBA honors, he will take some time off to enjoy his summer and then start plotting plans for next season.
Some people might doubt what he and the Thunder can do in 2025-26, but he is proving that people should always believe in him.
