Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder just had one of the best NBA seasons of all time.
In fact, he actually made history.
According to Underdog NBA, there are only two guards in league history to average 30+ points per game on a 50 percent field goal percentage in three consecutive seasons.
Those two players are Gilgeous-Alexander and Michael Jordan.
Needless to say, Gilgeous-Alexander is in great company with this statistic.

Last season, Gilgeous-Alexander posted a league-high 32.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.4 assists on 51.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from the three-point line.
In the season before, he produced 30.1 points on 53.5 percent, and then 31.4 points on 51.0 percent the year before that.
Gilgeous-Alexander is on a run that will live in the history books forever.
The numbers are impressive, but the accomplishments are even more noteworthy.
Gilgeous-Alexander is now a champion and was also named Finals MVP, Western Conference MVP, and league MVP.
He did just about everything in 2024-25 and is now coming back to the league, hoping to do it all again.
Gilgeous-Alexander got a lot of attention last year, and he will gain just as much in 2025-26.
However, there is a big target on his back because the rest of the league will be trying to get in his way and prevent him from winning back-to-back titles.
No matter what happens, there is no doubt that he is going to create another impressive stat line in the new season.
If he is able to put up more than 30+ points per game on 50 percent again, he will cement his place as one of the best guards to ever play.
