The Chicago Cubs are in a playoff race for their postseason lives.
If they want to reach the playoffs they will have to do it through the Wild Card.
The Cubs, Miami Marlins, and Cincinnati Reds are all competing for the last spot.
That means every game from here on out is a must-win for the Cubs.
On the docket for this weekend is a home series with the Colorado Rockies.
At worst, the Cubs need to take two of three games in this series.
One player who will play a key role in that is Seiya Suzuki.
He is having a fantastic second half of the season.
According to MLB, Suzuki has kept his hot streak going against the Rockies.

He hit his 20th home run of the year, which was a two-run blast.
It gave the Cubs a 3-0 lead and some much-needed insurance runs in the game.
Seeing this from Suzuki should not be surprising to anyone.
He has been doing this for a while.
In the last 30 games, Suzuki is batting .354 with seven home runs and 26 RBI.
Also, he has an OPS of over 1.000 over that span.
His 20 home runs this year are the most in his career.
Granted, it is only his second MLB season.
With every game being a must-win, Suzuki has gotten hot at the right time.
He will be a key cog in the Cubs lineup as they try to advance into the playoffs.
Not many people knew what to expect from Suzuki when he first came over from Japan last year.
Well, he is turning into quite the player for the Cubs.
