After unexpectedly making the playoffs last season, the Los Angeles Rams have fallen short of expectations so far this season.
A big factor has been injuries, with wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp out since getting injured in Week 1 and Week 2, respectively, and without them, the Rams have struggled mightily on offense.
After having their bye, the Rams get back to work in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders, a struggling team that recently replaced its starting quarterback and traded away its star wide receiver.
Though Kupp did not fully participate in practice, Rams head coach Sean McVay said there is a chance he will return to action this week.
“There’s a possibility that he’ll play, but we’ll see how today goes. He’s trending in the right direction, but we’ll see exactly what that means as the week progresses,” McVay said, via Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic.

Kupp has been riddled with injuries over the past couple of years, so it is easy to forget how much of a weapon he can be when he’s healthy.
In 2021, his last fully healthy season, he led the NFL with 145 catches, 1,947 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns, was named All-Pro, and the Rams won the Super Bowl.
Without him for almost all of this season so far, the Rams rank 31st in passing touchdowns, and though some of his teammates, particularly Tutu Atwell, have stepped up, they have managed just one victory.
Making things even more frustrating, three of their four losses have come by six points or fewer.
