The Los Angeles Rams’ fairy-tale second half of the season came to a heartbreaking end.
Controversial calls aside, they put up a huge fight to take down the Detroit Lions on the road; they just couldn’t finish the job.
Even so, the Rams proved that they’re nowhere near done and that last year’s season was nothing but a fluke, an injury-riddled outlier.
With that in mind, HC Sean McVay wanted to make it loud and clear that QB Matthew Stafford is definitely coming back for next season (via Jourdan Rodrigue).
Matthew Stafford said Sunday he expects to return in 2024. He said that in 2023, yet there was *a lot* of speculation about what the Rams would do.
Sean McVay says today the Rams are “100%” committed to Stafford, “unequivocally, yes.”

McVay acknowledged that there was a lot of uncertainty regarding Stafford’s future last season, but that’s not the case this time and they continue to be fully committed to him.
Stafford struggled with injuries last year, but he turned back the clock this season, especially later in the campaign.
His connection with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua is special, and the Rams offense fired on all cylinders later in the year.
Even though they lost plenty of talent, this team proved that they can still compete at the highest level, and with one of the best young coaches in the league, there should be no reason to think they can’t be back in the fold next year.
Stafford is 35 years old and looks like a player who still has plenty left in the tank.
So, the San Francisco 49ers better look out, as they will continue to have an elite QB to gameplan for in the NFC West Division for at least another season.
