It will be interesting to see how the Seattle Seahawks fare without Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner.
They had a strong finish last season but ended up being the only NFC West team that missed the playoffs.
To begin the first year of the post-Wilson era, the Seahawks had Drew Lock and Jacob Eason as the only quarterbacks on their depth chart.
But the team brought in Geno Smith for a one-year deal that could earn him up to $7 million.
Smith filled in for Wilson when the Pro Bowl quarterback suffered a dislocated finger on his throwing hand that required surgery.
The former West Virginia standout started three of the four games he played, ending with 702 yards and five touchdowns.
While those numbers aren’t eye-popping, Seattle needed someone to compete with Lock and Eason for the starting job.
Unfortunately, as shared by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Smith’s new contract isn’t cleared yet.
#Seahawks QB Geno Smith’s contract was disapproved, per the transaction wire, but the issue will be fixed and the contract will go through, source said.

Rapoport tweeted, “#Seahawks QB Geno Smith’s contract was disapproved, per the transaction wire, but the issue will be fixed, and the contract will go through, source said.”
The issue allegedly stems from the contract’s details.
Smith will be guaranteed $500,000 and another $3.5 million in incentives.
Is A Trade For Baker Mayfield Off The Table?
The Seahawks could use someone like Mayfield, and it’s no secret that they would like to sign him.
But is Smith’s acquisition an indication that they’ve given up on getting the Cleveland Browns quarterback?
A fourth quarterback could be a wasted roster spot that could be better used for another position.
However, the Seahawks won’t lose much if they give Mayfield a try.
After all, would they rather have Lock or Smith than him?
