Henderson will wear the No. 00 jersey, a curious move considering that Lillard owns No. 0 on the Blazers.
He’s already keen to share touches with Damian Lillard, and this decision can be considered another move to convince Lillard to stay with the team.
A lot was said about Henderson, the Charlotte Hornets, and the Portland Trail Blazers leading up to the draft.
In the end, the Hornets selected Brandon Miller as the No. 2 overall pick, leaving the door open for Portland to take Henderson.
With this move, they have three exciting young players on the roster, in Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons, and Shaedon Sharpe.
Damian Lillard will reportedly give more time to the front office to try to build a competitive team around him.
Scoot Henderson could be a future superstar in the league.
In 19 games last season, he averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists in the G League.NEXT: Damian Lillard's Agent Releases Statement Amid Social Media Controversy
