For years, Saquon Barkley repeated that he wanted to be with the New York Giants for the entirety of his career.
He explored every option to make that happen, but GM Joe Schoen didn’t seem to hold him in high regard.
He constantly lowballed him and repeatedly chose Daniel Jones over him.
Eventually, the Philadelphia Eagles came with an offer he couldn’t refuse, so he chose to go to Pennsylvania to play for a Super Bowl contender.
Fast forward to today, and Barkley’s historic season led the Eagles to the Super Bowl in just his first year away from the Big Apple.
Even so, he holds no grudges with New York.
When asked to send a message to Giants fans, the Penn State product claimed that he still had nothing but love for them (via FOX Sports: NFL).

While he understands that some fans weren’t happy with his decision to join a divisional rival, he also knows that most of them were very supportive of him during his first years in the league.
Barkley was the Giants’ best player week in and week out.
Injuries were frustrating and always a part of the equation, but that wasn’t on him.
It’s hard to blame players for leaving a team when they don’t feel valued.
He’s proving how valuable he could be in the right situation, and even though his numbers in New York wouldn’t have been this impressive, the Giants and their fans have to regret getting rid of him.
