Saquon Barkley has long been considered to be brimming with talent, but this season, he put it all together and had a season for the ages.
He became one of a handful of NFL running backs to ever eclipse 2,000 rushing yards in a single season with 2,005, and had he played in Week 18, he could’ve broken Eric Dickerson’s all-time record of 2,105 rushing yards, which was set in 1984.
Though Barkley didn’t break Dickerson’s record, he can run by the Los Angeles Rams legend on another historic list while facing his former team in the NFC divisional round.

Dickerson took the league by storm as a rookie in 1983 by running for a league-high 1,808 yards and scoring 20 total touchdowns, 18 on the ground.
In all, he led the NFL in rushing yards four times but never came close to winning a Super Bowl championship, as those Rams teams of the 1980s simply didn’t have the horses to go all the way.
The Eagles, on the other hand, went 14-3 this season and appear to have a real shot at getting to the big game and winning it all.
Barkley’s arrival as a free agent this past offseason reinvigorated an Eagles team that went to the Super Bowl two seasons ago but collapsed down the stretch last season before losing in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
