Team Venezuela enjoyed a strong performance from catcher Salvador Perez on Sunday.
The team won their WBC matchup against Team Puerto Rico by a final of 9-6.
The Kansas City Royals catcher led the way for Team Venezuela, going 4-for-4 with a home run, 5 RBI, and three runs scored.
Venezuela’s next game will come on Tuesday against the Nicaraguan National Team.
They’ll also play on Wednesday against Team Israel.
On Twitter, the official account for the World Baseball Classic tweeted a cool graphic of Perez, which featured his stats from Sunday’s big win over Team Puerto Rico at loanDepot Park in Miami.

Perez certainly had a night to remember.
The veteran catcher’s abilities were on full display as Team Venezuela picked up a huge win over Puerto Rico.
In fact, Perez was just a triple shy of the cycle.
His biggest hit was his three-run homer off of Fernando Cruz.
Right-hander Pablo Lopez, who was recently acquired by the Royals’ division rival, the Minnesota Twins, also had a strong performance, allowing just one run over 4.2 innings of work.
Venezuela is off to a hot start in this year’s World Baseball Classic, having won against the Dominican National Team on Saturday after pulling off a spectacular comeback.
But it was Perez who led the way on Sunday as Venezuela chased Toronto Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios early.
Venezuela will continue on Tuesday when they play host to Nicaragua at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
On Wednesday, they will match up with Team Israel.
Pools C and D will conclude on Wednesday.
