The New Orleans Saints have been eliminated from playoff contention due to their 5-10 record, and they will play their penultimate game of the season in Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
They will undoubtedly want to end the season on as much of a positive note as possible, especially because they don’t have much of a chance of ending up with a top-three pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Running back Alvin Kamara has had another very solid season, but he missed the Week 16 loss to the Green Bay Packers and reportedly will not play against Las Vegas, according to Around The NFL.

Without Kamara and starting quarterback Derek Carr, the Saints got destroyed by the Packers in a game when they mustered just 196 total yards of offense.
Carr will join Kamara on the sidelines for this game due to a hand injury he suffered against the New York Giants in Week 14.
The Saints started the season looking mighty when they scored 47 and 44 points in their first two games, but those blowout wins were immediately followed by a seven-game losing streak that quickly torpedoed their season.
They had been picked by many to win the NFC South last season but narrowly missed out on doing so by finishing 9-8, and it is now looking like some significant retooling is needed for them to make the playoffs next season.
New Orleans hasn’t reached the postseason since the 2020 season, which happened to be the final season of quarterback Drew Brees’ storied career.
