Last season, wide receiver and return specialist Rashid Shaheed had a breakout season with the New Orleans Saints, as he earned All-Pro honors for the first time in his NFL career and showed he might have a bright future ahead catching passes from Derek Carr.
In the first six games of the 2024 NFL season, Shaheed was well on his way to putting up better numbers than he did during his Pro Bowl season, which was a promising sign for the Saints offense.
Shaheed had three receiving touchdowns through six games while also scoring on a punt return, which is impressive compared to the five he had as a receiver all of last season.
Unfortunately for the Saints, Shaheed’s 2024 campaign has come to an end, as the promising star on the rise had surgery on his meniscus and has been ruled out for the season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

This is a big blow for the offense, especially with Carr also on the mend at the moment while dealing with an oblique injury that has him listed as doubtful the “Thursday Night Football” game against the Denver Broncos.
With Shaheed moved to injured reserve, the Saints reportedly elevated Equanimeous St. Brown to the 53-man roster.

He is the brother of Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is widely regarded to be one of the best wide receivers in the game while playing for arguably the best team in the NFC.
