The New Orleans Saints were riding high with Jameis Winston at quarterback.
But he went down with a season-ending injury last week and the team looked toward Trevor Siemian to bring home the victory.
He did just that and the discussion came down to him and Taysom Hill for the starting role moving forward.
Sean Payton has finally made his decision.

Siemian has earned the starting nod and one can expect to still see Hill from time to time in special formations.
So not much changes for Hill in terms of his role with this team.
The Right Decision
Siemian came on in relief of Winston last week and finished with 159 yards and a touchdown.
The Saints offense did not slow down at all with him in the lineup and he was the easy choice for the starting role.
A closer look at his career also reveals plenty of success.

Siemian started 14 games for the Denver Broncos in 2016 a season after the team won a Super Bowl with Peyton Manning.
He personally went 8-6 with 18 touchdowns that season and was arguably the best quarterback the Broncos have had since Manning retired.
But his play declined a bit in 2017 and the Broncos went in another direction.
The fact he was able to play so well on short notice against a tough Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense should have fans excited about what he can do the rest of the season.
And if they are not excited, at least everyone can feel some sense of security that Siemian is not a terrible option who will tank the season.
The Saints are 5-2 and fighting with the Buccaneers for the NFC South lead.
If Siemian plays well, he may earn himself a lot of money this offseason.
