Many NFL fans believe the current era of quarterbacks is among the best in the league’s history.
The game is played a lot differently than it was 20 years ago, and the quarterback position has evolved.
Gone are the days of immobile pocket-passers, for the most part, and we’ve welcomed in an era of quarterbacks who are itching to get out of the pocket and take off on the run when necessary.
Some players are less mobile than others, but with strong arm talent, they can succeed in this league.
Joe Burrow is one of the less mobile quarterbacks, only breaking for runs when necessary, but his passing numbers are strong enough that this doesn’t need to be a big part of his game.
The Cincinnati Bengals were in a rut when Burrow came to town, and he’s brought a lot of hope back to the organization, turning them around and making the Super Bowl in 2021.
Because of this, Burrow is commonly viewed as a top-five or top-10 QB in the league, but analyst Ryan Clark took this a step further in a recent ESPN segment.
“Joe Burrow is the best QB in the world, and it’s not a conversation,” Clark said.

Clark believes that the Bengals would be nothing without Burrow, and that he can’t be blamed for the team missing the playoffs for two straight seasons.
He led the league in passing yards last year, nearly throwing for 5,000, but it wasn’t enough for his team to overcome their slow start.
Clark might be one of the only analysts who has this opinion of Burrow, but it’s hard to dispute the fact that he gives it his all for the Bengals to have the best chance to win every week.
