With the 2023 NFL season just around the corner and the rosters mostly set, fans and analysts can go ahead and put together their power rankings and make their predictions ahead of the next season.
That’s why Ryan Clark took some time on ESPN’s Get Up to rank his five best teams in the NFC, and there were a couple of surprises.

Clark played it safe with his No.1 team by choosing the Philadelphia Eagles, stating that GM Howie Rosmena could be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame for how he’s managed to build two Super Bowl-caliber teams under two different quarterbacks and head coaches.
He later raved about the San Francisco 49ers, claiming that they could’ve actually beaten the Eagles if Brock Purdy stayed healthy and citing that a full season of Christian McCaffrey could be a huge factor.
Surprisingly, Clark chose the Dallas Cowboys as the third-best team in the NFC.
He explained that Micah Parsons’ surge and Stephon Gilmore’s addition opposite Trevon Diggs might be impactful enough to finally get this storied franchise over the hump after years of underperforming.
At No. 4, Clark shocked the audience again by picking the Seattle Seahawks, citing that the addition of Jaxon Smith-Njigba is only going to make their already-explosive offense even more impressive and predicting that they’d be one of the teams to beat in the NFC even if they don’t win their division.
Last but not least, Clark talked about the up-and-coming Detroit Lions, praising them for what they did in the latter rounds of the NFL Draft, and stating that Jared Goff deserves another contract with the organization, especially if they win the NFC North this season.
