Ahead of the 2022 NFL season, the Denver Broncos made a bold move by pulling off a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire superstar quarterback Russell Wilson.
The move was thought to be a game-changer for the Broncos, in the same way the Peyton Manning signing was, but things didn’t go as planned, as Wilson struggled all season long and appeared to have lost a step or two after being among the league’s elite quarterbacks in Seattle.
Although the Wilson acquisition turned out to be a nightmare for the Broncos last season, the veteran quarterback has vowed to get back to form in 2023, and he’s already put the work in, as he claims to be lean and mean ahead of next season via NFL on ESPN.

It remains to be seen whether Wilson has turned the corner and can bounce back from the worst season of his career while making Denver a force to be reckoned with again.
Along with Wilson seemingly being motivated to turn things around, the Broncos went out and made a major addition to the team bringing in veteran head coach and one-time Super Bowl champion Sean Payton.
Although the pairing seems like a winning duo, only time will tell if Payton and Wilson can get this team headed back in the right direction, as things could easily go haywire in the same way they did in 2022.
Unfortunately for Wilson, the bulk of the pressure will be on his shoulders, meaning he’ll have the 2023 campaign to show what he can do, and if he fails, they’ll likely move on from him.NEXT: Broncos WR Makes His Thoughts Clear About Future In Denver
