The Los Angeles Clippers just got way better.
Some fans seem to ignore the fact that Russell Westbrook is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and they just happened to need a starting-caliber point guard.
Westbrook can still give any team 30+ minutes of solid offensive play any given night, and he recently proved that he could embrace a lesser role or even come off the bench if needed.
The most important part about this new chapter in his career is that — for the first time since leaving Houston — it seems like he’s actually welcome and wanted there.
Russ himself knows the feeling, which is why he seemingly took a subtle shot at the Los Angeles Lakers and his former teammates in his introductory press conference with the Clippers.

It’s not a secret that the Lakers tried to ship him away multiple times since arriving in Southern California.
In fact, LeBron James openly admitted to being disappointed at the fact that the Lakers failed to get Kyrie Irving, and that has got to take a toll on your relationship and the locker room.
Moreover, someone from the Lakers went as far as to call Westbrook a vampire just when he walked out of the door.
Westbrook was a true professional during his time with the Lakers.
He knew they didn’t want him there, yet he showed up to work and played every single day.
Now, he’ll get to play somewhere he’ll be actually appreciated, and the revenge tour is officially on for the former MVP.
