When Patrick Beverley was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, there were fans asking a ton of questions.
Perhaps the biggest question was this: how will he play well alongside Russell Westbrook, who has received tons of negative comments from Beverley over the years?
Westbrook’s future with LA is murky at best but he seems to be getting along quite well with his new teammate.
Russell Westbrook didn’t just watch Patrick Beverley’s press conference from the side. He made sure Pat Bev looked good, tossing him a towel to wipe his sweat from working out.
Pat Bev: “First dime of the year.”

In fact, Westbrook was on hand for Beverley’s press conference the other day.
Not only did he watch to see what his new teammate had to say, he even tossed him a towel.
Beverley quipped back, “First dime of the year.”
That joke got a good chuckle from Westbrook but it underlined an important point: the past is really the past for these two and they are coming together like their team needs.
But will it really matter in the end?
Where To For Westbrook?
It’s great to see Beverley and Westbrook get along after years of being rivals but we don’t know if they will ever actually play a game on the same team.
Training camp is right around the corner and the regular season is less than two months away but Westbrook might still be traded away from the Lakers in the weeks ahead.
Make no mistake: Westbrook and Beverley might not ever be actual teammates during the regular season.
It’s really hard to tell what the Lakers will do with Westbrook but we know they are definitely shopping him around the league and trying to put a deal together.
It’s just not clear if that will result in the sort of package they are happy with.
Westbrook could remain and get even closer with Beverley or he could be on his way to another team very soon.
