It’s been more than a long while since Rudy Gay was considered one of the best forwards in the NBA.
However, the 17-year veteran has always been durable and has embraced a lesser role as the years go by, and it doesn’t seem like he’s looking forward to calling it a career any time soon.
With that in mind, Hoops Hype (via NBACentral) reports that as many as five teams could make a run at the veteran, namely the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Chicago Bulls, and New Orleans Pelicans.
Teams expected to show interest in Rudy Gay:

The report adds that Gay has mostly transitioned to the power forward spot, citing that he was healthy for the most part and a rotation piece for the Utah Jazz last season.
Gay failed to live up to the expectations throughout the course of his career, entering the league as a No. 8 pick and failing to take that leap forward or even make an All-Star team.
Nonetheless, he’s an efficient scorer from all three levels and an above-average defender, even at 36 years old.
He might not be able to be on the floor for 30 minutes at this stage, but he could give any team some quality minutes off the bench as a 3-and-D stretch-four, which is quite valuable in today’s game.
The former Memphis Grizzlies star averages almost 16 points per game per his career while shooting 45% from the floor, and he’d be a better signing than several younger players, even at this point in his career.
