Since Week 8, the Georgia product has led the entire league in total EPA on targets (39.7) and receiving yards (550).
He also ranks third in yards per target (13.1), fifth in yards per route run (2.99), 13th in catches (34), and 22nd in targets (42).
That means he’s putting up those big numbers in limited receptions, showcasing his impressive ability to pile up yards after the catch.
Greg Roman and the Chargers didn’t lean on him as often earlier in the season, but it’s more than evident that he’s gotten up to speed now.
Also, with star RB J.K. Dobbins set to miss some time, the Chargers might want to turn to a more pass-heavy approach for the time being.
Justin Herbert is among the best and most underrated players in the entire league.
The Chargers have given him a fun weapon to work with, and they could be very good for many years to come.
