Ron Washington Gets Braves Fans Pumped With A Fiery Quote

The Atlanta Braves are highly motivated to have a great season, and not just because they know what success tastes like after winning it all last season.

They are pumped because they know they have what it takes to repeat: a solid core of hitters, an excellent and deep pitching foundation, a good manager, experienced coaches, and a front office that always tries to put the team in a position to succeed.

Everybody in Atlanta is motivated, and third base coach Ron Washington sure knows how to get everybody fired up, from players to fans.

“We Get After It!”

“One thing we do in Atlanta: we get after it,” Washington said in what has become an excellent gif.

Last year’s World Series victory was special for Washington.

The definition of a baseball man, Washington was a player, coach, and manager for a long, long time, and after more than 40 years in the sport, he finally won his first Fall Classic last year as the Braves’ third base coach, a role he retains to this day.

He came awfully close to winning the World Series as a manager in 2010 and 2011 when he was the skipper of the Texas Rangers.

He even came a strike shy of the victory in that 2011 Series, but the St. Louis Cardinals stole it from under the Rangers’ nose.

In any case, he finally got his title last year, and obviously wants some more.

The Braves will be one of the candidates to take the trophy home, but the New York Mets, the Milwaukee Brewers, the San Francisco Giants, and the Los Angeles Dodgers will try to get in their way in the National League.
