Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. has once again made the news for all the wrong reasons.
As has happened multiple times throughout the course of his career, his violent and erratic behavior has stood in the way of his career.
Porter was placed under arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
That raised plenty of doubts about his future in the league, considering he already had a history of such behavior.
That’s why Rockets GM Rafael Stone made it loud and clear that he can no longer be a part of the organization going forward (via Chris Mannix and NBACentral).

This is far from a surprise, as there were reports of the team trying to find a trade partner to get rid of him and his contract.
Nonetheless, it’s highly unlikely that any other team would want anything to do with him, all things considered.
Porter has always been incredibly talented, but his off-court behavior and violent character never allowed him to develop his true potential.
His issues date all the way back to high school, and while we all hope he gets the help he needs, there’s no place in sports — or in society — for what he allegedly does.
Now, Fred VanVleet and rookie Amen Thompson will handle the playmaking duties in Houston.
That should be better for Ime Udoka’s team, as Porter wasn’t a natural playmaker anyway.
