The screwball is a pitch that has turned into somewhat of a lost art in Major League Baseball.
Not often do pitchers throw this pitch anymore, much less even posses the ability to do so.
However, it’s a pitch that can be used as a viable tool by MLB pitchers who have the ability to throw it.
Still, it’s not commonly used these days.
But one person in particular showed interest in learning the grip and motion.
The person in question was none other than Rock and Roll legend Joan Jett.
On Twitter, a video can be found of her demonstrating how to throw the screwball with the proper grip and release.

Even those outside of baseball love the game.
And as it turns out, Joan Jett is one of those people.
But who would’ve thought that the Rock and Roll legend knew how to throw a screwball, especially considering that not many pitchers today throw that type of pitch?
Jett was in the broadcast booth of the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night, repping her team by donning a black Orioles T-shirt.
And sure enough, the famous singer and guitarist knew exactly how to throw a screwball, perfecting the grip and release point and demonstrating her skills to the Orioles broadcasters.
For context, a screwball is incredibly difficult to throw and forces a pitcher to snap their wrist in a manner that causes the palm to face away from his glove side, and in turn, it breaks similar to a curveball, but in the opposite direction, depending on which hand the pitcher throws with.
