The New York Jets’ Super Bowl aspirations suffered a massive blow as soon as the season began.
Losing Aaron Rodgers just four plays into the year was terrible for them, but it also left the door wide open for history to be made.
Rodgers has pushed to be the first player to make an in-season comeback from a torn Achilles.
And as crazy as it sounded at first, he’s been practicing for a couple of weeks, and he continues to hope to be on the field for the upcoming game vs. the Washington Commanders.
With that in mind, Jets HC Robert Saleh recently showered him with praise, stating that it was “unbelievable” to watch him partake in drives, get under center, push in practice, and look like nothing even happened (via Ari Meirov).
#Jets HC Robert Saleh said Aaron Rodgers "pushed it" in practice on Thursday and went under center and did some bootlegs.

Having Rodgers back on the field might not be enough for the Jets to make the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl.
Then again, it’s a huge breakthrough for sports medicine, and it could change the entire way players deal with these kinds of major injuries going forward, not to mention a testament to his health, work ethic, and determination.
Some believe Rodgers shouldn’t risk further injury by coming back now that the Jets don’t seem to have a chance to play beyond the regular season.
But this is history in the making and Rodgers will also benefit from getting some real-life reps with his new teammates to give the fans a glimpse of what they could have next season.
