No NFL player has come back from an Achilles injury in the same season they suffered it; it simply is not possible.
Or so we thought.
Aaron Rodgers is trying to make history for the New York Jets by taking the field again at some point this season, in spite of suffering that injury just four plays into the season.
Rodgers has left the world in awe by walking without crutches and even taking the field to throw some passes before his team’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
He’s been optimistic about being able to return way sooner than expected, and HC Robert Saleh left the door wide open for that to happen.
Saleh talked about how he seems to be manifesting things, adding that he seems fueled by doubt and looking like a man on a mission right now (via Peter Schrager).
Robert Saleh on @gmfb , discussing Aaron Rodgers recovery and timetable: "What he's doing is absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't put anything past him. He's all about manifestation. I think he's fueled by doubt. He's on a mission. We're leaving the door open for him."

The head coach stated that what Rodgers is doing is “absolutely ridiculous” and we couldn’t have a better choice of words for that.
Rodgers’ return could change everything in the sports medicine industry.
Players usually take at least one year before being able to come back, and Rodgers is months ahead of schedule; this is unprecedented.
Some would rather have him wait until next year to make sure he’s fully healthy, especially at this point in his career.
But if he feels like he can truly go out there and give his team a chance to win, then by all means he should take the risk.
