In just a few days, hundreds of college prospects will participate in drills during the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine in an effort to increase their stock before this year’s NFL Draft in April.
The majority of the 32 teams around the league attend the Combine, however, some of the team’s head coaches choose to skip the annual event altogether.
For this year’s Scouting Combine, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh reportedly will not attend the event, according to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio (via ProFootballTalk on Twitter).

It might seem odd for some Jets fans that their team’s head coach, who is heading into a 2024 season on the hot seat, isn’t going to go watch this year’s group of prospects work out in person.
But Saleh clearly doesn’t see the value in attending, and part of the reason likely has to do with the technology that is available today.
All of the workouts are televised, so the New York head coach can watch them from his office, and during the prospect interviews that teams typically hold with multiple prospects, he can participate via video call.
After three straight losing seasons as the head coach of the Jets, Saleh is heading into a pivotal year with the franchise.
If New York misses the playoffs again in 2024, they will likely be looking for a new head coach.
Luckily for Saleh, the Jets are expected to have All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers available for more than just a quarter next season, unlike the 2023 campaign.
Will Rodgers’ return be enough for New York to make the playoffs and save Saleh’s job?
