The New York Jets haven’t exactly been a powerhouse in the NFL.
It’s been quite a while since the fans had something to look forward to before the start of the season, but better days finally seem to be ahead of them.
With Aaron Rodgers arriving in town to revamp an already solid squad, the Jets won’t be pushed over or seen as a scheduled win like they were in the past.
That was the sentiment HC Robert Saleh wanted to share with his players during his “Hard Knocks” speech (via B/R Gridirion), letting his squad know that other teams will now strive to give them their best shot, and that’s the kind of position any team should want to be in.

Truth be told, it’s hard to think of this Jets as less than a legit Super Bowl contender.
They have one of the best and most dominant defensive units in the game, not to mention two building blocks on the offense like Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall.
Add a future first-ballot Hall-of-Fame quarterback to that mix, and the Jets should be the clear-cut favorite to come out of the division, even with Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills and Tua Tagovailoa’s Miami Dolphins standing in their way.
But as we’ve seen multiple times in the past, paper doesn’t win championships, and they’ll need to honor that contender status on the gridiron week in and week out.
The pressure is on, and there will be no more room for excuses.
